As a nurse practitioner in hematopathology and bone marrow acquisition, my priority is providing high-quality, patient-centered care. My top professional priorities are giving patients the best possible experience during their procedure and providing the clinician with high-quality, timely results. Establishing multiple sedation bone marrow clinics allows for the patient to be comfortable while allowing the procurement specialist to obtain the highest quality specimen possible. The procurement specialist and the pathologist work as a team to utilize established triage protocols and early slide review to begin the diagnostic work up as soon as the specimen is available to the ancillary labs. This service allows us to put our clients and patients needs first.
