Schedule: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Hospital Pathology Associates (HPA) provides pathology services to various healthcare organizations in Minnesota and Wisconsin and is Minnesota’s largest pathology private practice. We have an ensemble of highly skilled, seasoned pathologists and professional staff with a wide range of expertise not often found elsewhere.
Our experienced team of pathologists examines and assesses lab samples to help healthcare providers make a diagnosis and guide treatment. Lab samples, also known as biological specimens, are tissues or bodily fluids gathered during a medical appointment or lab visit. We care for patients like you behind the scenes in our laboratories, and you are an essential member of our patient healthcare team.
Position Overview
This position encompasses a broad scope of healthcare management and administration responsibilities and requires an individual willing and capable to perform a diverse range of duties. Accountability for this position pertains primarily to human resource management, ensuring a compliant and efficient workflow. In addition, this position will support HIPAA compliance, safety and security, and office management.
Duties and Responsibilities
HR Management
- Manage and execute benefit programs and processes.
- Administer leave of absence for qualifying employees.
- Prepare and send out organization wide internal communications to staff and physicians.
- Facilitate the performance management process, leveraging HR systems, to ensure all employees understand how their role contributes to achieving company goals and receive regular feedback.
- Assist with compensation programs such as base pay and bonus programs. Evaluate positions for FLSA status and ensure compliance with FLSA.
- Facilitate the exit process including communication with the employee and managers, processing the change with all necessary providers, and conducting exit interviews.
- Manage the recruitment, hiring and onboarding process.
- Ensure policies, procedures and reporting are compliant with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
Office Administration
- Answer main phone line and greet guests, staff, and physicians; assist with requests and answer questions.
- Schedule meetings, book meeting rooms, and order refreshments.
- Accessioning cases to include receiving cases, logging them in to the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), and assigning a unique identifier to ensure traceability and accuracy.
Compliance, Safety and Security
- HIPAA compliance activities to include documentation of administrative, physical, technical, and external controls.
- Initiate and ensure completion of training for staff and physicians related to HIPAA and other compliance requirements.
- Management of security requirements related to physical location, hardware, and software.
- Facilitate and/or complete a disaster recovery plan, including testing and documentation updates.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, healthcare management and administration, or equivalent program.
- 5-7 years work experience in human resources
- Prior experience in a healthcare environment and working with HIPAA compliance
- Professional HR certification such as PHR or SHRM-CP preferred
- Advanced user of computer applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, and HRIS systems.

Pay Range: $95,000 – 115,000 base salary plus 10% annual bonus opportunity.
